Cancer Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction

Our town of Chewelah and the Chewelah Golf Course and Country Club are both committed to giving back, and we have 2 locals in our community who have recently been diagnosed with cancer.

They need our support:

Lavonne Russell and her daughter, Christina Cunningham, both received back-to-back breast cancer diagnoses recently.

Lavonne, who is the wife of our local wrestling coach, has been in Chewelah for 10 years. She started working in chiropractor Dr. Champion’s office performing massage and then started her own business after about a year. She began offering massages, both in-office and home visits. Now she currently provides in-home massages to around 30 clients on the golf course and to about 20 clients in town. Lavonne was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and has undergone a double mastectomy, impacting her ability to work, provide services, and make an income.

In addition, her oldest daughter, Crissy, who took on the role of caregiver to Lavonne, was diagnosed in the middle of Lavonne’s treatment with a very aggressive form of breast cancer! Now, Lavonne is stepping into the role as Crissy’s caregiver, and Crissy has been undergoing chemotherapy and is scheduled for her own double mastectomy in July.  It has been a devastating blow to the family and a heavy financial burden.

We are running a cancer benefit for Lavonne Russell & Chrissy Cunningham

$40/plate for yummy choices from The Rusty Putter’s appetizer and platter menu. It’s going to be a delicious spread!

(½ of dinner proceeds are being generously donated by CGCC to Lavonne & Chrissy!)

Winners of the Silent Auction will be announced at dinner. Silent Auction items include a generous Sety’s Ace Hardware gift basket with pickleball items, artwork, jewelry, and various other gift baskets.
